PROJECT UPDATE
MOROCCO
Ouarzazate Solar Power Station (OSPS), also called
Noor Power Station is a solar power complex located in
the Draa-Tafilalet region in Morocco, 10km from Ouarzazate
town, in the Ghessat rural council area. The project is planned
to produce 580 megawatts (MW) at peak when finished and
is being built in three phases and in four parts. Noor 2 CSP
is being built as the second part of the Ouarzazate Solar
Power Station. It will be a 200-megawatt (MW) CSP solar
project using parabolic trough and with seven hours
energy storage.
NIGERIA
Centenary City is an ambitious new project by the Nigerian
Government to build a smart city along the same lines as
Dubai, Monaco and Singapore. The city is to be built from
scratch on a 1,260 hectare piece of land located several
kilometres southeast of Abuja. The mega-project includes:
Nigeria Heritage Park; 18-hole golf course; Africa Tower;
The Mall of Nigeria; International Commerce Centre; The
Address Residence Abuja and amusement park.
