PROJECT UPDATE LATEST REGIONAL PROJECT UPDATE GHANA A 155-megawatt solar power plant is being developed at Aiwiaso Village in the Western Region of Ghana. Based at Nzema Solar Power Station, the plant will use a total of 630,000 solar photovoltaic (PV) modules which, when struck by sunlight, will generate direct current (DC) electricity. Using inverters, the DC will be converted to alternating current (AC), which will be fed in the national electricity grid to power an estimated 100,000 homes. The project will be developed on 83 hectares (450 acres). NIGERIA Queen’s College Lagos has become the third Unity School to launch the Internet of Things (IoT) Innovation Centre, which is being powered by the Unites Cisco Networking Academy. It joined the Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC), Yaba and the Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC), Bwari, as the three schools with centres where pupils can use ICT and other digital tools to create a smart environment and solve problems.
