gadgets like mobile phones, tablets have had over chil- dren when they were exposed to for longer duration, par- ents simply encourage their children to hook on to elec- tronic gadgets which is noth- ing but reflective of them evading their parental re- sponsibilities. Addiction to electronic gadg- ets have been slowly gather- ing pace not only in the West- ern world but also gathering steam in developing countries like India. Pampering child with things they desire is a sure recipe for disaster. It is incumbent upon parents that they spend quality time with their kids irrespective of their busy schedules and de- manding jobs for it ensures children develop an appropri- ate behaviour and attitude to face challenges with aplomb. Family still remained a robust social institution but with significant changes in its structure over the decades with nuclear family having replaced joint family, parenting has now come to mean pampering to the dismay of many... As children imbibe more from their parents than anybody else, parents have to take ex- tra care to keep their unde- sirable behaviours such as wordy quarrels, physical abuse and violent demeanors at bay given its scathing neg- ative impact on their kids. Creating conducive atmos- phere for their kids to enjoy the pleasures associated with childhood is the foremost du- ty of every parents.
