Example #1 and Example #2 both used the slice method which intuitively best demonstrates the ideas of translation (#1), rotation (#2) and reflection.
> Start with a regular polygon shape (triangle, square or hexagon).
> Cut out a design out on one side.
> Translate, rotate or reflect the new piece onto another side of the shape to create an entirely new shape.
> This new shape can then be tessellated.
Example #3 used a modified tracing method.
Interestingly, Example #2 and Example #3 ended up creating the same tessellation, each by a different method!
