V) The Variable Pitch Aircraft Propeller is a type of propeller with blades that can be rotated around their long axis to vary the blade pitch. Wallace R. Turnbull developed an electrically-operated mechanism that was first tested in 1927 and patented in 1929.

Don Hings invented what he called the "packset" in 1937. When Canada declared war on Germany two years later, he redeveloped and renamed the device the “C-58 Handy-Talkie” for military use.

In 2019, Greg Kawchuk, and a team from the University of Alberta figured out how to use a commercially available set of virtual reality goggles to help doctors view an x-ay superimposed on a patient's body.
Y) Yukon Gold Potatoes
Gary Johnston bred the first Yukon Gold potato variety in 1966. It was a cross between a potato from North Dakota, called Norgleam, and a wild South American yellow-fleshed variety called Papa Amarilla.
