Of course, my favorite applications involve cookies & cake! For these, the henna designs can be applied in a number of ways.

KIKI's MANDALA COOKIES

Bake your cookies. My friend, Moni, made sugar cookies for this project, but you can also use a shortbread recipe or any recipe where the cookies don’t spread.

Materials:

Cookies

Cookie cutters that are the same size/slightly smaller than the surface of your cookie

White fondant

An airbrush gun system

Edible airbrush paint

A mandala stencil

A small paintbrush

Water

Procedure:

1. Roll out your fondant to a 1/16" thickness.

2. Choose your stencil design and apply it to the fondant. Press down lightly to ensure the stencil is stuck down.

3. Lightly airbrush one layer of paint onto the fondant.

4. Spray on a second layer.

5. If necessary, spray on a third layer. Be careful not to apply too much as

you do not want any excess to pearl up on the surface.

6. Let the colouring dry.

7. Carefully peel the stencil off the fondant to avoid any smudging.

8. Use the cookie cutter to cut the fondant with the design at its center.

9. Using a paintbrush, apply a little bit of water to the back of the fondant cut-outs to make them tacky.

10. Affix the fondant cut-outs atop the cookies. And voila! You are done!
