CYTOKINESIS
● Occurs concurrently with telophase .
● The cytoplasm of the parent cell splits into two genetically identical daughter cells .
TELOPHASE
● Once the chromosome sets arrive at the poles , the spindle fibers dissolve .
● The chromosomes decondense ( no longer visible under a microscope ).
● Nuclear membranes reform around each chromosome set forming a nucleus .
ANAPHASE
● Continued contraction of the spindle fibers causes the sister chromatids to separate , each then becoming an individual chromosome .
● These genetically identical chromosomes move to the opposite poles of the cell .
