Primary Colours : The colour wheel is built from the foundation of three colours . These are the three pigment colours that cannot be mixed or formed by any combination of other colours in the wheel . All other colours are derived from these three hues .
Secondary Colours are the colours formed by mixing the primary colours .
Tertiary Colours are the colours formed by mixing a primary and a secondary colour . Hence , why the hue is a two word name , such as blue-green , red-violet , and yellow-orange .
