A RECIPE FOR
A FROG S’MORE
CAFETERIA POEM
A recipe for a frog s’more.
To make a yummy gooey s’more
For a recipe you’ve never heard
before
You might need a frog or two
Make sure this s’more is just for you
You will need
A cracker for me
And two for you
A string of hair from a Russian
buckaroo
A sticky smelly block of mold
Lily, 12
And a fish

DO NOT EAT THIS
School of Indiana
When I first walk in
I hear the noises starting to roll in
The kids who laugh at every little
thing
The boys who shouts and scream
about who won at basketball
Then the girls who chitchat about the
mall
The younger kids who drops their
forks and spoons
The teachers sipping through there
mugs
Remind me next time, to bring some
Ariel, 12
earplugs

QUIET POEM
AFTER SCHOOL
The thumping of kids released from
class like a stampede of elephants
The sound of volley balls being hit in
the gym.
The groups of friends talking,
running, laughing.
Tennis shoes kicking lockers.
Pencils and papers stuffed in bags.
Anxious teachers yelling at kids
holding up the carline.
The sounds of joy and anger lost in
the void as I walk alone out of the
jungle of noise.
Sophie, 12
silent again.
