My First Recording Session:
A Day to Remember
December 21st, 2013 is a day I will remember
for the rest of my life. It was on that day I had the
chance to feel like a star!
My whole life I have loved to sing. As we were
thinking about special Christmas gifts for family
last year, we decided to give an extra special gift.
We decided it would mean a lot to family to give
a piece of me. We decided to give a CD of me
singing a special song.
When my mom told me she was able to take me
to a studio (The Pop Machine in Indianapolis) to
record, I was so excited!!! BUT.. as the special
day approached I found myself becoming more
and more nervous. I felt unsure if I were really
good enough to be on a CD. I mean... I don’t want
to be one of “those” people on American Idol!
Although I was full of questions, my fears were
quickly put to rest the day I recorded. Recording
felt amazing and powerful. It was a feeling I have
never felt. Lindsay and Eric were amazing, kind,
encouraging and supportive. Their intern Max
was also there and made the environment even
more fun. I was amazed at all the equipment and
tools. Seeing how a song is put together for a CD
was also really cool. I never realized how much
work goes into recording a song! I have a new
appreciation for the music I buy.
I hope someday I will have the chance to record
again. Music is my life, my expression, my
passion. Music is ME!
