PALI MOMI MEDICAL CENTER:
Blanket Warmers
Thanks to your generous donations, Pali Momi was able to purchase new
blanket warmers for oncology patients. Treatments can last for several
hours and infusions can make patients feel cold. The warming cabinet will
heat stored blankets, enhancing the care and comfort for patients and
contributing to their overall health and recovery.
KAPI`OLANI MEDICAL CENTER FOR WOMEN & CHILDREN:
Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention
Donations to Kapi`olani will help educate parents about, and hopefully prevent,
shaken baby syndrome. Kapi`olani utilizes the National Center on Shaken Baby
Syndrome educational DVDs and informational booklets from the "Period of
PURPLE Crying" program, which helps parents and caregivers understand and deal
with increased infant crying. These will be given to parents of newborns before they
leave Kapi`olani.
WILCOX MEDICAL CENTER:
Telemetry Monitors
Gifts to Wilcox’s Emergency Department were used to purchase new telemetry
monitors. Cardiac telemetry is the continuous monitoring of a patient’s heart rate
and rhythm. Patients with ongoing heart problems, recovering from heart events
or at risk are watched to keep doctors informed of their progress. The additional
monitors will expand Wilcox’s capability to serve the community.
STRAUB MEDICAL CENTER:
Patient Transport Trolley and Esophageal Scope
At Straub, donations helped the Endoscopy Suites buy a patient transport trolley
and esophageal scope equipment. Purchases such as these help the Straub staff
safely transport patients and allows the Endoscopy Suites team to fulfill its goal of
providing patients with the best medical information through rapid and accurate
examination of the entire digestive tract.
