My son has inspired me with his balanced outlook on life, great
communication skills and dedication. He will be graduating
from college in May and working in the field of his dreams this
summer in a National Park. I am inspired to be a healthier,
more capable person than I was when he was a young child.
And, he regularly reminds me of the value of connecting with
nature, enjoying music, and just having fun.
When I was at primary school the teacher gave the class a copy
of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, and asked us to read a
few chapters over the weekend. On the Saturday morning I
went to a quiet place by the canal to start reading and loved
the story of a young boy and his friends so much I was late for
my lunch. I went back to my quiet place after my lunch and did
the same on Sunday and finished reading the whole book
before school on Monday morning. From that moment I knew
I wanted to be a writer present situation doesn't determine my
future. To be hopeful is to be optimistic and a clinical and awe-
inspiring figure that keeps me hopeful is Abraham Lincoln who
never gave up in his political career. More importantly, the
belief in a supernatural that guides my thoughts, actions and
words and intervenes at the appointed time, not when I want.
