Pretending that teachers have the ability to change all
of the frustrations that can potentially cause burnout
would be misguided. It would also be a mistake to
assume that teachers are positioned to impact change
in all areas of occupational stress- they aren’t.
Although it is true that teachers have a level of
agency on their own, certain causes of burnout are
out of their hands. This makes it even more
important to examine what the stresses are and where
