She opened her eyes and looked faintly at him.
“Look,” warned he, “Unless we leave, we are dead.”
She shook her head unconsciously.
“Just a little effort.” added he, “Are you ready?”
She nodded.
He collected his things and settled her on the stool he sat in front of her.
He uncapped the horn.
He put his index in his mouth and wetted it. He entered it into the horn and wiped all the powder. He rolled
the wet dough between the index and the thumb as he used to do when he would play the marble game.
He flicked it with all forces against the blocked entrance. It quaked, shook and there was a bang. Rocks and
stones exploded and scattered everywhere.
A way opened before them. He pushed the horn and they flew through the entrance. He could hear grunts
and insults. He expected to hear noise of gun fires but there was none.
When he thought they were safe, he turned
back to see what the explosion had left.
Casualties and destruction were huge. The
policeman who had been digging was dripping
blood from everywhere.
The two civilians were on the floor wounded.
They were grunting out of pain.
The helicopter had lost its blades and its
windscreens were broken. The officer was
waving his arm grudgingly.
