Be My Valentine

Step 1 Ask the students to unscramble the letters:

Step 2. Hand out the worksheet( or show it on the board using a projector) and say that these are idioms related to LOVE. Give the students 5 min to match the idioms with the correct meaning.
Step 3 Ask the students to work in pairs or groups of three and write a romantic story using 6 of the idioms and the title“ Be my Valentine”. If you want, you could ask them to use a certain tense or construction, for example Past Simple and Past Continuous.
Step 4 For the last exercise you will need access to the Internet. After you check the stories for mistakes, the students have to animate the story. They can use their own photos or find free images on the following websites: http:// www. clker. com /, https:// morguefile. com / search / morguefile / 1 / pop http:// www. pixnio. com /
In order to animate the story, the students can use this website: https:// spark. adobe. com. Once they find the photos, they can order them, record a narration and even select music to go with it. It’ s easy, free and lots of fun. At the end of the class, each group plays their video and the students vote for their favourite one.
