Frank & Russie’ s Little big adventures

Chapter 1

Hi. I am Frank. I am 12 years old and I come from Shanghai, China. It’ s early Friday morning and I have just landed at Heathrow Airport, London. The flight was long but my book kept me busy. I really enjoyed the time when the plane dipped into the fluffy clouds. Now despite being exhausted I really look forward to seeing my teacher Russie.“ Frank!” I heard someone shout my name. When I turned around, I saw her. She looked exactly the same as I had seen her on skype for over a year. We were so pleased to see each other. Then Russie said:“ Frank, you must be starving. I think you should have your first English breakfast now.”
English breakfast? Oh, I remember the video that my English teacher sent me a couple of months ago. I agreed gladly to give it a go.
We popped into a lovely little café and Russie ordered Full English Breakfast for both of us. Of course, it was accompanied by a lovely cuppa. For those of you who are wondering what a cuppa is, this is a hot cup of English tea. Did you know that the British people have their tea with milk?
I had a sip and thought that the taste was wonderful. Of course, I couldn’ t wait to have the breakfast served. When the waitress brought the big plate, I could not believe my eyes.
• three toasts
• some mushrooms,
• some baked beans,
• three rashes of bacon,
• two fried eggs,
• black pudding
Russie told me that black pudding is made from blood. Yuk!!!“ I think it is very delicious, Russie. You have to share the recipe with me so that I can surprise my family with it,” I said. Then Russie asked me:“ What do you usually eat for breakfast in China, Frank?”“ We usually have some dumplings or noodles for breakfast,” I replied. After paying the bill, we set off and caught a train to Folkestone, where my teacher lives. I was delighted to see the beautiful countryside out of the train window. There were sheep grazing peacefully in the meadows. That’ s all from me today. See you in Folkestone next time.
