A New Day
“With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.”
- Eleanor Roosevelt
W hen daylight deceives me wholly
E merging inexplicably from the west
L ike a one-way train been wronged
C ontinuing on its quest
O nly I may know it’s backward
M e, with my backward thoughts untold
E ver reaching for the firmer thought
T hat the neurons cannot seem to hold
O stentatious as it may seem
I n my corruptly contemplative place
N ever have I come so undone
S aving so much face
P eople as they’ve offered
A nswers through and through
D enied their very selves
E verything they know is true
S ome may tell you it is hard
M any more believe it to be real
A lways casting ourselves so far out to sea
G ravity left to reel
A nother sun is rising
Z estfully pursuing all that has been
I nsofar as days have ended
N ew ones will begin...
E njoy!
