Nowadays (as you can see in the graph) the viewers have almost doubled and the cost of a 30 second commercial is almost 100 times as much, namely 4 million dollar. Ever since the 90s it has become more common for famous artists to perform like at the 25th Super Bowl in 1991 were the New Kids On the Block performed or the 27th Super Bowl in 1993 were Michael Jackson was the main performer, which was the performance that caused a spike in viewers and the way in which the halftime show was organized.
