2013 roadshow roundup
Outlook’s tale on life

Meal at Nando’s with Outlook
Having toured the county with 7
roadshows this year, it is time to
take stock and have a look at what
we have achieved. The roadshows
have involved not just Insight but
other suppliers bringing a wider
range of products to demonstrate
than we can hold in our main
Resource Centre in Cheltenham.
Insight’s young person’s group has
been out exploring the gastronomic
details of Cheltenham recently .
Here are the thoughts of group
member Ines Higgins on one of the
jaunts out.
by our names to make individual
payments possible. The staff were
very friendly and helpful; they did
not make us feel as if we were in
any way inconveniencing them by
ordering differently.
Back in June, the Outlook group
got together for a meal at Nando’s
in the Brewery Complex in
Cheltenham. For many, the location
was fairly central and easy to get to,
which made for minimal transport

the restaurant, and the night.
While I don’t consider one chicken

Likewise they offer unlimited free
refills on soft drink.
Overall we had nearly 300 people
coming through the doors to see
what was on offer and speak to the
reps and, of course, our own staff.
The weather on some days did prove
damp, but the atmosphere was
enthusiastic. We have had some
wonderful reviews of the events.
As ever, if you would like any help
with equipment, please just ask – it
is why we are here! Also if you spot
something that may be useful to
other people, please let us know so
we can share the information.
As it was a Friday night, we
expected the restaurant to be
busy and therefore quite noisy.
While this was certainly the case,
we were sitting in a quieter area
of the restaurant which made
conversation possible. Likewise, as
there were not too many of us, we
managed to have a conversation at
least once with everyone we wanted
to catch up with.
Immediately on arriving, a braille
and large print menu was made
available to us. The braille menu
seemed up-to-date and very easy
to overview. While at Nando’s you
usually order your food at the bar,
the staff came around the table
to take our orders, sorting them

The evening gave many of us a
chance to catch up with people we
had not seen for a while and get to
know new members. I think a great
evening was had by all, and the
meal ended early enough for
