The Highbury Club review A world without volunteers By Chris Chapman By Susan Gregory It has been a busy year at The Highbury Club, which meets in the afternoon on the first Wednesday of each month at Highbury Congregational Church. If you would like to join the club, please contact Insight on 01242 22 11 70 Club Members have enjoyed varied entertainment at meetings, together with a cream tea on board the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway, which is highly recommended if you are looking for ideas for trips out. In August, Blooms Garden Centre was the venue, with 15-year-old Sam Strachan playing guitar and singing‘60’s hits. A record attendance of members “rocked the joint”! The club owes a great deal to the dedication and support of a great band of award-winning volunteers. This is reflected by the poem written by one of our members and dictated over the phone, so I hope that I’ve got it right!
