Blonde is even harder to achieve. You are
lifting several pigments out of your hair.
Bleach is the only way to do so. Traditional
color in a box will NOT lift you to that
gorgeous platinum your stylist has taken
years to achieve. They will, however, give
you an unsightly shade of yellow at the
root most times. Bleach kits are dangerous.
This process, if not done correctly, can have
severe adverse reactions to your scalp. We
are talking third degree burns with hair
loss and scars. Chemical reactions with
something you use every day is possible as
well. Think Brittney Spears circa 2007. If you
still feel yourself struggling with DIY hair,
remember most stylists charge hourly or
$200+ for color corrections and it may take
several sessions to correct. The pigments in
box color are not the same as professional

lines and are difficult to lift out.
Don’t fret, here’s what you CAN do! Try
parting your hair differently. You may also
use a round brush and lift the roots off
the scalp. This will help camouflage lines
of demarcation. If you find yourself round
brush defeated, blow dry your hair upside
down or away from its natural growth
pattern. You may find that the trendy
middle part is for you after all. The time to

There are also washable root sprays. Yesss,
amazing little cans of root ready goodness.

your stylist to see if your salon carries.
