CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) KNOWLEDGE This Story comes from a RN who is healthy but is heartbroken from seeing the families tore apart from sickness… Tonight on my shift I’ve had to tell the family of a dying man, that they cannot go in to see him, they cannot say goodbye to their dad and that they have to go home. Think about that for a minute, how it must feel to tell a family that. This is after finding out one of my patients had died yesterday days after testing positive for the corona virus. I know this is happening all over but the patient group I look after, I really feel like they don’t deserve this. Battling cancer with every fiber of their being, having chemo, radiotherapy and everything that comes with that and then to die alone, unable to have visitors and say goodbye to their loved ones. Wards unable to support their family the way we want too because family can’t visit. How can this be happening, how is this fair? How an earth will families get closure? Can you imagine your parent dying alone and not being allowed see them? Don’t the public want to do their bit to stop this from happening? Why is it so hard to just stay inside. And the truth is I’m filled with dread, because I know this is only going to get worse. PLEASE PLEASE stay inside, I absolutely beg you. I don’t know how else to stress to people how serious this is. How many more people have to die before people take this seriously. ✽ CALHOUN COUNTY COVID-19 TEXT UPDATES N HOU C AL NT Y COU D-19 I COV ATES UPD ing: Text ID COV CAL 77 88-7 8 : o T 11 People in Calhoun County can now sign up to receive text alerts for local updates on the COVID-19 situation.
