The added support helped the band expand,
moving shows out of Anniston to places like
Tuscaloosa, Atlanta and the Hard Rock Cafe in
Memphis. They're also hard at work on a second album, "Forever Existing Place."
“It’s from a meditative approach,” said Costa, who regularly meditates, explaining that
whether they’re running or playing music or
anything else that absorbs them, everyone
meditates in some way. “Whatever that is,
that’s your forever existing place.”
The album is planned to be 10 tracks long,
nine full band songs and one piano composition of Costa’s that’s waited years for an outlet. They’re planning to have the record ready
to release before the end of the year, taking
15 hour days to record on the weekends to
expedite the recording.
INSIGHT
The band toys with composition even further
this time around, taking the concept of having songs with choruses and playing a bit of a
joke by having three choruses in a song — as
in, three different choruses, none of which repeat. It’s a fun idea that gets laughs when it’s
mentioned in the room, a hint at the band’s
youth, optimism and underlying humor that
runs through their writing.
Of course, another nod to their humor is
their insistence that the article wrap up with
shout-outs.
“Party Pat drives the band, he’s been in every
crazy situation we’ve been in, his birthday’s
coming up,” said Costa, while Adams insisted
that VEDA is Pace House’s favorite band.
It’s a little weird, but it’s Pace House to a T. ✻
