Suppliant Street Serenade
Buckner Event Center
Suppliant Street Serenade was written
between 1997 and 2002 in San Francisco, California. Key spent many hours
interviewing homeless individuals who
lived in the Mission District and the Castro. The play takes a poignant look at one
night in the lives of five men who have -in one way or another -- opted to live on
the streets. Sometimes comic and sometimes tragic, the lives of the individuals
portrayed in this ensemble production
are quite fascinating and enduring.
