Suppliant Street
Serenade
Local writer Eric Wayne Key presents Suppliant
Street Serenade Sept. 11-14 at Buckner Event
Plaza in McClellan. Key says that he developed
the show over the course of several years,
spending hours interviewing the homeless of
San Francisco’s Mission, Tenderloin and Castro
districts to create the characters of Pete, Lucas,
Bear, Gerald and Willie, five homeless men surviving on the streets and living rough for their
own reasons.
The show runs Sept. 11-13 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 14
at 2 p.m. at Buckner Event Plaza’s Foothills Theatre, 412 Buckner Drive, Anniston. Tickets are
$15 general admission and $10 for students and
seniors, and can be purchased at calcoarts.com.
