and uncertain time for our family. The surgery was a huge success and he has made a
full recovery although he has been forced to
retire from his job as Assistant Chief at the Anniston, Alabama fire department. “Last year, I
wasn’t sure if I would even be able to handle
growing mums with all I had been through,”
Dad admits. “But God is good and I was able
to continue one of the things I love to do. I
give Him all the glory for it!”
Over the last 12 years, Butterfly Gardens has
seen many stages and phases of life! From
hurricanes to the ever changing economy,
somehow the business has always managed
to persevere. “Our prices haven’t changed in
the last 7 years,” Dad tells me. This is an extremely awesome accomplishment considering the prices of both dirt and fertilizer have
doubled. Each fall, Butterfly Gardens travels
to several local events, including the Choccolocco Festival, local farmers’ markets, and
fall festivals. Several local schools host fundraisers as well during the season through Butterfly Gardens. With the growing popularity
and events, Butterfly Gardens has become
a beautifully kept tradition in White Plains
and the surrounding local communities. The
Brooks family looks forward to many, many,
more years of expansion and promise. Come
by and get in on the best kept secret of fall on
the Plains! ✽
