B
e the Halloween party host with the
most this year using these handy tips
and tricks.
Start off with a spook with these cheesecloth
spirits from marthastewart.com. All you need
are a few mannequin heads, cheesecloth, a
sponge brush, watered-down glue or fabric
stiffener, screw eyes, monofilament, and
removable adhesive hooks or painters' tape
to hang.
Your friends will think you’ve gone batty
when they see this display across your wall,
but it will be so worth it! Download the bat
template from madeeveryday.com.
Using black construction paper or cardstock,
fold the page (hamburger style). Use your
template to cut out your bats and then
attach them to the wall with tape. So easy!
Directions:
1. Apply a layer of cheesecloth to head,
then generously brush over head and
face with glue. Use hands to smooth the
cloth into the facial features. Don’t brush
down the neck; stop at chin level so the
fabric is loose below that.
2. Repeat until you have 4 layers (each 7 feet
long) of cheesecloth. Let dry thoroughly.
(No need to dry between layers.)
3. Tatter edges of cloth with scissors if
desired. Attach a screw eye with a bit of
glue to the top of the head; thread with
monofilament to hang from hooks.
Use cleaned out tin cans to make luminaries
for your walkway or hang them with wire.
Jollymom.com explains how...

• Clean empty tin cans {I like to use the big
coffee cans, any size will work}
• Hammer and large nail or awl
• Paint
• Paint brush
• Candles
Instructions:
1. Fill the tin can with water and place it in
the freezer. When the water in the can is
frozen, remove the can from the freezer.
