W
hen making out your
trick or treating route this
Halloween, be sure to include the 6th
annual Neewollah Festival in downtown
Anniston. Shops along Noble Street will
be offering candy to trick or treaters
during the festival on October 27.
The fun begins at 1:00 pm and will last until
4:00 pm. “The center of activity will be at
the intersection of 10th and Noble,” explains
Reilly Johnson, Main Street Anniston
Director. “But we are encouraging all stores
on Noble Street to be open for Trick or
Treaters!”
You’re invited to dress up in your spookiest,
or cutest, costume and enter the costume
contest. There are four categories including
three years old and younger, 12 years old
and younger, 13 years old and older, group,
and pet. Couples, families, siblings, friends,
etc. are encouraged to get creative and

piece together group costumes for the
group category, and don’t forget to include
your pets!
Anyone interested in participating in the
costume contest may register on the day
of the event at the Main Street tent located
across from Western Auto. Johnson says
costume contest prizes will include “gift
cards to a variety of shops and restaurants in
Downtown Anniston.”
In addition to costumes and candy, Johnson
says, ”We hope to have a wide-selection of
treats for attendees, including Hot Diggity
