Well , folks : we made it . It ’ s finally autumn , fall , the twilight of 2016 . Prepare for the onslaught of Black Friday and super early Christmas tunes at the supermarket . The weather is cooling off ( yay !), the days are getting shorter ( boo !), and we can hide our bathroom scales away , lest they show us the truth about our holiday habits .
Speaking of the holidays , we ’ ve got another wacky one for you : what ’ s the strangest dish
you ’ ve had to eat at Thanksgiving ? Maybe you didn ’ t “ have ” to eat it , but one of the best parts of the Thanksgiving experience is sharing in the traditions of our families ( yay !), and those of our in-laws ( boo !).

We asked last month for your favorite Halloween costume you ’ d ever worn ( with an emphasis on homemade stuff ) and we love the responses we got . A few were cute , a few were creepy and this month ’ s winner , Kerry Anders , had an awesomely grisly entry :
“ Years ago I worked for the Holiday Inn in Oxford across from the Quintard Mall . I bought an old prom dress from the thrift store and caught part of it on fire . I then made up my face to look like half of it had been burned … I was a car accident victim that had been on my way to the prom but did not quite make it !”
