he Coldwater Mountain FatTireFest returns for its second
year Oct. 14-16, bringing cyclists en masse to Anniston trails.
The festival starts Friday morning at Zinn
Park, where participants can register for
races and events as early as 6:30 a.m. Riding clinics throughout the morning will
help new and experienced riders brush
up on their skills before heading to Coldwater Mountain. Every half hour starting
at 4 p.m., shuttles will get riders to and
from the trail. An evening ride will let
cyclists burn off a bit more energy before
Friday caps off with a bonfire and movie,
with pizza and beer at the Coldwater
trailhead.

Registration: $90 weekend pass includes shirt, shuttles, two free beers
a day and registration for all events

Want to take a ride with a guide?
Saturday has several guided rides
for various levels of experience,
from a 6-mile beginner jaunt up
to the 10-mile Black Diamond trial
for experienced riders.
Saturday also features the return
of the Coldwater Mountain DU,
a mix of running and cycling for
competitive teams, and a series
of fun games, live music, dinner
and a beer garden with local and
regional brews.
Sunday wraps up the festival with
the Poker Ride and bike demos, as
well as breakfast and lunch,
The weekend is one of Anniston’s
biggest biking events, and it’s not
to be missed.
