N
ebraska band Bernardus stops
by Cheaha Brewing Company
on Oct. 22, partway through a
56-show tour of the southeast United
States.
“It’s something we’ve wanted to do for
a long time, and we decided to take the
risk,” said Ben Kramer, guitarist and lead
singer for the band. “We want to go out
and show that we’re serious about Bernardus.”
Both Kramer and his brother, multiinstrumentalist Jake, are performing as
16
a duo, having reworked their normally
five-piece band into an acoustic set for
two. The pair will be playing originals and
covers, including songs from the band’s
first release, a five track, self-titled EP.
When the band formed at the beginning of 2016, the Kramer brothers looked
to bring in other members who would
not only be dependable, but also have
unique influences that could drive songs
in unexpected directions. Drummer
Adam Kovar, bassist Matt Cornell and
keyboardist Christian Hale ended up being the perfect fit.
