NEEWOLLAH This year's Neewollah on Noble is Oct. 31, and brings some new contests to the popular Anniston Halloween event that grownups can get involved in. "We're adding more games that you've not seen in years past, and there'll be some surprises," said Charity Duncan from Spirit of Anniston, which coordinates the event. In addition to the carnival games and rides the kids have had since the event's inception, this year includes a cornhole tournament at 11 AM with cash prizes on the line, and a pumpkin eating contest for entrants 18 and up at 1 PM. "Neewollah is for kids, but we gotta let the adults have some fun too,” said Duncan. Favorites from prior years make a return, too, like the costume contest, local arts and crafts, live music and demonstrations by local businesses, like a karate clinic by Ted Turgeon's Martial Arts. information call Spirit of Anniston at 256236-0996 or visit Spirit on Facebook. This year kids will be able to decorate scarecrows, stop by the pumpkin painting station and trick-or-treat at participating businesses along the street. TERRORTORIUM As in prior years, the event is free and coming in costume is encouraged even if you’re not in the costume contest (or human; pets are encouraged to attend and wear costumes, too!).
