Theatre Happenings
THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW -
place enough to warrant the price of admission to newcomers and old fans alike.
CAST’s production of The Rocky Horror
Show (only the film version has the added
“Picture”) kicks off Oct. 29, bringing the
cult classic to the Anniston Meeting Center. Known for inspiring rowdy crowds
during the theatrical version, the mature
subject matter of the play is handled in
a completely immature way, with newlyweds Brad and Janet ushered into the
castle of Dr. Frank N. Furter, a mad scientist
obsessed with creating the perfect, sexy
being and also a bit of hedonistic murder.
But what’s life without a little spontaneity?
The show runs from Oct. 29-31, with showings at 7:30 each night and a second, midnight showing on Saturday night. Tickets are
$20 for adults, $10 for students and available at castalabama.com. As an offhand
(and safe) guess, the show will be best enjoyed by adult audiences.
CAST
The show includes songs so popular that
even people who haven’t seen the show
can sing along, like “Time Warp” and
“Sweet Transvestite,” and an Annistonbased performance should be just out of
October 2015
