Last month we asked what your favorite Halloween costume you’ve ever worn
was, and we got some surprising answers,
ranging from the expected vampires and
werewolves to surprising and awesome
answers like those included below:
Amy Steen-Hurst told us, “My favorite costume was probably the year I went as Yoda
(cool I was), and my brother was an Ewok.
Our parents were still together, and the
candy haul was premium. Good Times.”
Leslie Griffin said, “When I was in the fourth
grade I went on a candy hunt as a flapper girl from the 1920s. My grandmother
made me a silver flapper dress with white
fringe on the bottom that would shake
when I did! She also made me a matching silver bandana with a white feather for
INSIGHT
my hair and a matching ‘purse' to carry my
treasures in. I loved that costume and still
have it today, 34 years later!”
This month’s randomly selected winner
is Kristel Walker, whose homemade costumes as a kid won her some contests back
then, too: “My favorite costume was a movie star. Having four children in the family,
we always made our own costumes, and
had to get creative. It was always so much
fun, and we liked to compete against each
other to see who would come up with the
best one.”
Keep an eye on your inbox for information
about claiming your AmStar Theatre movie passes, Kristel. Thanks to everyone who
entered, and we’ll see you next month! ✻
