Horror Movie madness by Jesse Hall It’s Horror Month around the Insight office, and we’ve been throwing around a list of our favorite scary movies to watch leading up to Halloween. Some of them are funny, some are spooky and a few are kind of gross, but hey: it’s October. Take a look at our list and don’t be shy about sharing your favorite horror flicks with us on Facebook! Note: viewer discretion is advised! WITH THE FAMILY: Gremlins: [PG, 1984] A fun movie that is light on the horror and safe for the whole family. The story follows the exploits of Billy Peltzer and his curious pets known as “Mogwai.” The Mogwai are furry creatures that can be kept as pets, but have three very important rules that cannot be broken. One by one the rules get broken and the story escalates from there. 20 Sleepy Hollow: [R, 1999] The Hollywood retelling of the Washington Irving short story. It’s directed by Tim Burton and that probably says more than enough: Johnny Depp, funny hair and Helena Bonham Carter, with a few good scares and the unbelievably scary face of Christopher Walken. House: [R, 1986] Rodger Cobb is horror a novelist whose life is on the rocks. His wife left him, he hasn’t written a October 2013 INSIGHT
