An
early Christmas gift for
Calhoun County. The
Anniston, Oxford, and
Jacksonville communities are getting a
present this December, to the tune of 15
dozen bicycles. The bikes will be available
for anyone to rent and ride through the
bikeshare program, VeoRide.
The collaboration between all three
cities and the university will be the “first
multi-city bikeshare system in Alabama”.
According to the temporary website,
eastalabamabikeshare.com, you will find
VeoRide bikes in specific areas in each city.
VeoRide bikes will be found in downtown
Anniston, at Choccolocco Park in Oxford,
and at the Chief Ladiga Trail and JSU campus
in Jacksonville. The website also says
“expansion efforts beyond these areas are
inevitable after the initial system launch in
December 2018”.
Open the VeoRide App… Locate a bike…
Open Bluetooth on your phone and scan
the QR Code or enter the bike’s ID to unlock
it… Enjoy your ride… Park your bike at a
designated area, found in the app, when
you’re done… Push the button on
the bike lock to end your ride.
