t’s amazing the things we take for granted
in our own little world. Think about it.
Most of us never question what we will
wear this week, let alone something as
basic as where our next meal will come
from. The sad fact is that there are many in
our community who struggle with this basic
necessity of life every single day. Faces we
interact with may be internally battling the
decision between whether to pay rent or
buy groceries. In the midst of a struggling
economy and a city where so many need
help, there is an organization that is giving
us all yet another reason to be thankful.
The Anniston Soup Bowl was organized in
1984 by local business people in Anniston,
Alabama and Grace Episcopal Church.
“Something needed to be done about the
hungry in our area,” explains the Soup Bowl’s
