The League for Animal Welfare accepts
volunteers every morning between the
hours of 8:00 am and 12:00 pm, Monday
through Friday. All you have to do is show
up! When you get there you will fill out a
quick volunteer form and then get to work.
If you don’t have time during the work
week to volunteer time, maybe you are
interested in fostering a pet. Below are the
requirements for fostering through the
League for Animal Welfare.
• As with adopting, a fenced yard or secure
enclosure is required to foster a dog.
• There can be no more than four dogs in
the home, in addition to the dog being
fostered.
• Fostering will last no longer than two
weeks, unless approved by the League for
Animal Welfare.
• The League will supply food, bedding,
leash, collar, and crate for the animal
being fostered. At the end of the
fostering period, all LAW property must
be returned.
• The foster home/property must pass
an unscheduled home inspection
prior to the animal leaving the shelter.
Unscheduled welfare checks can occur
at any time in which the animal is being
fostered.
• The League will cover all scheduled
veterinarian appointments. In the event
of a medical emergency, a League
member must be notified to approve
vetting.

• A member of the foster family must bring
the animal to all remote events in which
the League is taking animals.

still up for adoption! A member of the
foster family must bring the animal to
the shelter if a potential adopter has
scheduled an appointment to meet the
animal. Forty-eight hour notice will be
given.
