Cheyne Smith
Recently, Smith has been exploring
carpentry and even built himself a new bed.
“I’ve never done anything like that before,”
he says. “But there’s all kinds of tutorials on
the internet and things like that you can
find out the best way to put something
together. So I just researched it and built it,
and it’s really strong actually.”
One of Smith’s current projects is
refurbishing a pair of old seven-foot
tall metal lockers, which appeals to his
appreciation for industrial style furniture.
“I’m going to make a bookshelf out of them,
and put one on each end and some shelves
in the middle,” he says.
In addition to sketching, painting, and
carpentry, Smith also has experience in
leatherwork and sculpting. No matter the
form, Smith allows his vision for art to lead
him to the finish line, keeping his love and
passion for his work at the forefront of his
project. ✽
