MCCLELLAN ROAD RACE Calhoun County’s weekend of biking continues on Sunday, April 3, with the McClellan Road Race. The race follows a massive, 22 mile loop around Fort McClellan that travels through Mountain Longleaf National Wildlife Refuge and the Anniston Eastern Bypass, with challenging climbs throughout the race. The 60-mile elite women’s race starts at 9 a.m., with the 80-mile men’s elite race starting at 1 p.m. Both races have a grand prize of $12,000. For more information, visit annistoncycling.com. TASTE ON NOBLE Your favorite restaurants take to the streets during the festival, with the attendance of several local eateries already confirmed. For those looking for sweet treats, Mad Hatter Cupcakes will be serving up their delicious and unique brand of cupcake magic, with Brain Freeze Mobile Ice Cream’s truck taking care of your daily dairy necessities (and hopefully not leaving you with a headache). Bonnie Ray’s Bake Shop will also be on site, and Artisanal Baked Goods will do a bit of crossover work, with desserts and their incredible, fresh baked bread ready to fit any craving. Participating Restaurants • Artisanal Baked Goods • BBQ Boss • Brain Freeze • Mad Hatter Cupcake Shop • Mellow Mushroom Pizza • Southern Girl Coffee Hoping to fill up before tearing off to the rest of the fest? Mellow Mushroom and BBQ Boss will hit the spot, with pizza and BBQ for the main course. Tickets make a return this year, with 13 tickets per $15, which are used for both food and rides. Tickets help keep the lines moving (no one has to fish for exact change), and they’re a great way to set an amount you want to spend for the day. 8 March 2016 INSIGHT
