T
he 2016 Noble Street Festival looks
to be one of the largest Calhoun
County has ever seen, with a full
weekend of races drawing in even more
of a crowd than before.
“We’re the only place in Alabama that has
a local race, regional race and national race
on the same weekend,” said Festival Director
Neeli Faulkner. “We’re expecting a lot of
participation because of that.”
The weekend includes
the Sunny King Criterium
and McClellan Road Race,
national-level competitions
that draw riders from all
over the country to compete
for major cash prizes and
the right to be called the
best. Both competitions are
recognized by USA Cycling,
the governing body of
competitive bicycling in the
United States, and feature
racers at the top level of the
sport.
It’s only fitting that the
Noble Street Festival is
6
one of Calhoun County’s biggest events
all year, representing all of our cultural
touchstones, from food to art, music,
health and fitness. There are already tons of
activities scheduled, with more on the way,
including announcements about music and
participating vendors coming soon.
Check out our guide to the festival, and plan
ahead for April 2-3 to be a big weekend for
the whole family.
