A
Chicago-style deep-dish pizza at 3
Style Pizza weighs about 10 pounds.
Delivered to the table is a tremendous pizza, thick like lasagna, with
sauce and toppings on top of the cheese to
fit with the Chicago style, and a high wall of
crust at the edges holding it all in. There are
swimming pools that aren’t as deep as this
pizza.
“We strive for the most authentic styles,”
said Clint Austin, co-owner of 3 Style. “Gino’s
East is an authentic Chicago restaurant, and
I’d put my Chicago pizza up with his.”
The three styles of
pizza on offer —
hence the restaurant’s name — are
New York, Chicago
and House. New York
pizzas have a thin,
crispy crust, while
Chicago style offers
deep dish, thick “pizza pie” crust. House
is a hand-tossed pan
pizza, the traditional
style that most commonly appears at pizzerias.
