THE LACS - 7:30
WYNONNA & THE BIG NOISE
The Lacs — as in “Cadillacs” — are a pair of
Georgia boys who perpetrate acts of “hick
hop,” rap with a country music style and
theme. Maybe that seems out of place — and
it might be — but the boys have production
value and the songs are catchy, featuring
trade-offs between rapper Clay Sharpe and
singer/guitarist Brian King. Give them a listen at thelacsmusic.com for a preview.
Wynonna Judd is a country music legend.
She sold more than 20 million records as a
member of The Judds with her mother Naomi and became a multi-platinum solo artist,
winning several Grammy and CMA awards.
You’d know her from songs like “I Saw the
Light,” “Tell Me Why” and “No One Else on
Earth.” She began performing with her new
band, The Big Noise, in 2011. Visit wynonna.

Acti vities
TEEN ZONE: The kids are going to want
to head off in their own direction, an inevitability that Mountain Dew and Mix 102.9
have prepared for by building a Teen Chill
Zone where teenagers can dance to a live
DJ’s beats, play games and stay safe. The
zone opens at 7 both nights.
KIDZ ZONE: Something a little more laidback for the younger set, the Kidz Zone
is a sequestered section of Moragne Park
where the Gadsden Museum of Art, Public Library and Gadsden’s CharACTers Entertainment will entertain and educate
the youngsters. There will be plenty of
photo opportunities. The zone is open all
day Saturday.

ZIP LINE: If you’ve never tried zip-lining,
it’s a blast, and you can try it at Riverfest
this year. It’s easy: hook up to a sturdy,
overhead cable and take a 300 foot ride
across its length from one side of Moragne Park to the other. It’s a little like going down a slide — if you were hanging
from the slide. Small per-ride fee.
RIVERFEST PUB: Your very own “Adultz
Zone” opens with the gates both days of
the festival, offering up Fat Tire, Miller,
Coors, Mike’s Hard Lemonade and more,
along with local brews from Back Forty
Beer Company, including local favorite
“Truckstop Honey.”
