Nocturnal Night at the Museum by Kelsey Butler Spend the night at the museum for an experience you will never forget. The first 20 children, age 7 to 12, to register for Nocturnal Night at the Museum will explore Anniston Museum of Natural History and Berman Museum of World History after dark on July 27. Pre-registration is required and ends on July 20. Call 256-237-6766 to RSVP today. Tickets are $45 per child ($35 for museum members). A sibling discount is also available. Take $10 off each additional ticket when purchasing two or more. When registering, please inform the museum staff of any allergies, dietary needs, or concerns. Drop off time is 5:00 pm at AMNH on Friday, July 27, and pick up is Saturday morning at 8:00 am. Boys and girls will have separate sleeping areas, and there will be one museum staff member for every 5 children attending. 18 Ticket prices include dinner, a bedtime snack, and breakfast. Renee Lyons, Public Relations and Marketing Manager for the museums, says “This event will give children the opportunity to view the museum from a different perspective. The group will tour the museum by answering exhibit hall trivia questions, enjoy a special guided tour of the Berman Museum, create awesome crafts to take home, meet nocturnal live animals, and tour the Bird of Prey Trail with an educator.” Lyons says the museum hosted an overnight event in the past that guests loved, and museum staff are happy to bring it back. “The goal is to inspire children to take initiative to get outdoors and Explore Your World,” she says. “Often times, children are scared of the dark and at this program they will be able to face that fear alongside museum educators and meet a few July 2018 INSIGHT
