EAT LIKE A LOCAL
By Kelsey Butler
Phelps and her husband, Johnnie,
opened The Coffee Clef on April 17 with
the intention of serving light sandwiches
and pastries to accompany the coffee,
but Phelps says customers started asking

I
n just a few weeks, the new coffee
shop on Noble Street in Anniston,
The Coffee Clef, has expanded to The
Coffee Clef Cafe, now serving home
style cooking. “It has just kind of blos-

“We just decided they were right, and it’s
been amazing,” says Phelps. “We try to
think back to what we ate at our grand-
parent’s house on a Sunday afternoon,
and that’s the kind of food that we try to
make.”
The Coffee Clef Cafe now offers a full
breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu.
