› Struts - Jacksonville, Oxford
› Cooter Brown's - Jacksonville
Cooter Brown's BBQ keeps it simple with their
sauces: wings come in medium, hot, mojo
and mild or hot BBQ sauce, served with tortilla chips and ranch or bleu cheese dressing.
That simplicity comes across in the wings,
which are deliciously direct.
Like Heroes, Struts specializes in wings, with a
ton of sauces available to wash your wings in,
like hot honey mustard, sweet chili pepper,
Wild West sauce and the fabled "Ass Kickin'"
sauce. Wings can be served boneless, too,
which is convenient for kids and lazy eaters
like ourselves, and every order comes with
tortilla chips, celery and your choice of dipping sauce. We went with sweet chili and
WEST wings and loved every bit of it.
› Peerless Saloon and Grille - Anniston
The Peerless keeps a range of sauces in stock,
ranging from the mild to extra hot buffalo
sauce to more exotic selections like Caribbean jerk, teriyaki glaze and garlic romano
ranch sauces, which we tried and found absolutely amazing. Paired with the Peerless'
unmatched atmosphere and it's an amazing
wing experience.
› Jefferson’s - Jacksonville, Oxford
› Thai One On - Anniston
Jefferson’s has everything you’d expect from
a wing restaurant, with sauce flavors beyond
simply “hot,” though where they really shine
is their double-dipped wings, served up in a
big pile in one of the restaurant’s party platters. Every order comes with chips, celery and
ranch or bleu cheese dressing. ✻
It might be a surprise to see a Thai restaurant
in a wing roundup, but Thai One On's Asian
wings are an appetizer that's worth a look.
Big, crunchy wings are slathered in the House
sauce, a brown, sweet and tangy mix, served
with a jalapeno sauce on the side that tastes
fresh like the pepper was just cut.
