“These are popular with gentlmen, especially mechanics,” said Mickler, holding a
square of goat milk soap made with coffee
grounds that gives off a pleasant, light coffee scent. “The coffee grounds are a little
scrubby and cut grease, but it doesn’t dry
out your hands like commercial soaps.”
Non-commercial goods are one of the highlights of the weekly get-together, which
runs from 8-12 every Saturday morning
through September 13, and features local
music from area artists like Maggie Beam
playing at the Cheaha Brewing Company
front porch, cooking demonstrations and
raffles.
A variety of vendors keeps the market experience fresh when moving from tent to
tent, with independent farmers and growers selling all-natural fruits, vegetables and
jars full of homemade mustard and honey.
Area merchants like Artisanal Baked Goods
bring along a selection of items as well, giving visitors an opportunity to grab one of
their treats like lemon cakes or unbelievable cheddar-bacon scones to go ݥѠ
