READ THE ALABAMA CYCLING CLASSIC READ The Alabama Cycling Classic is comprised of two national level competitions, the Sunny King Criterium and McClellan Road Race. Both the Sunny King Criterium and McClellan Road Race are recognized by USA Cycling, the governing body of competitive bicycling in the United States. The ACC attracts top riders from all over the country competing for major cash prizes. READ ST. PAUL & THE BROKEN BONES HEADLINE KNOX OUTDOORS The first-ever Knox Outdoors Music Festival debuted in Downtown Anniston on May 20, bringing eight hours of live music, craft and food vendors, plus a kids zone. Storms in the area forced the party indoors at Classic Too where the remaining bands, including headliners St. Paul & The Broken Bones. Local and regional talent included Rattlesnake Rattlers, The Dexateens, The Seratones, Bright Light Social Hour, The Lie Within Callie, Pace House, and Keyton. READ TAYLOR HICKS AT OPAC Alabama native Taylor Hicks performed at the Oxford Performing Arts Center for what he described to us as a “cool, intimate, stripped-down acoustic set of music.” READ RILEY GREEN RELEASES EP Riley talked to us about his latest EP before taking the stage at the Spirit on Mountain Street event in Jacksonville on August 24. His EP includes hits like “Bury Me In Dixie” and “Man Like Me”. Green says, “Gettin’ that EP out has literally been the biggest weight off my shoulders.” INSIGHT THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND PERFORMS AT OPAC Lead singer and founding member, Doug Grey, talked to us about life on the road. “We’re 45 years together and I see no end to any of it,” said Grey. The Marshall Tucker Band will perform at the Southern Rock Cruise 2018 on January 20. READ DARREN KNIGHT ENDS COMEDY TOUR IN OXFORD “To end that tour here at home, that’s going to be really cool,” said Darren in an interview with us. Knight performed with the Southern Momma An Em Comedy 2017 in November. Knight drew crowds of 3,000 plus on his tour, and has a record of nearly 150 straight sold out shows. “I’m still humbled by the whole experience,” he says.
