Storm Troopers swarmed Oxford ’ s Amstar Cinemas to usher in the newest addition to the Star Wars storyline .
The Alabama garrison of the 501st Legion ( Vader ’ s Fist ) wowed moviegoers at the debut of Rogue One , the first Star Wars Anthology film , on December 15 .
In this section of the Star Wars saga , ordinary people make extraordinary choices and become a part of something greater than themselves . In their own way , the volunteers from the 501st Legion are making their own extraordinary choices to help a young boy in need of surgery .
Amstar Cinemas made a monetary donation to help the boy ’ s family as they prepare him for brain surgery . The boy has a condition called Craniosynostosis , premature fusing of his skull . Craniosynostosis occurs in one in 2000 births .
One of the 501st Legion ’ s missions is to “ bring good to [ their ] communities through volunteer charity work .” The group makes appearances at local fairs , gatherings , and children ' s hospitals . There is no charge for appearances but the Legion welcomes donations made to charitable organizations in the name of the 501st Legion . ✽
