Mata chose an old Pasquale ’ s building , right next door to a Pizza Boy . When confronted about the choice her husband responded , “ You should feel bad for Pizza Boy ”.
Undoubtedly , William knew the magic his wife was cooking up for their new hometown . With simple decor and outrageously delicious Greek pizza , grinders , salad , gyros and more the Rodopoulos ’ soon found their neighbors selling the Pizza Boy business .
As Mata ’ s gained popularity , Linda and Rick would help out on their lunch breaks and weekends . They both worked as clinical psychologists at the mental health center . The couple would later take over the day-to-day operations , but the quality of Mata ’ s recipes never wavered .
Linda says she is a stickler for the production of each pie . To this day , you ’ ll find her in the kitchen spreading sauce on each home-made crust , she says “ It has to make a perfect circle , not too close or too far from the edge ”.
Mata ’ s employees would surely attest to Linda ’ s particular standards of how each dish is to be prepared , and would also admit that it ’ s that love of hand-crafted meals that has propelled Mats ’ s Greek Pizza into the homes of so many in our community . ✽
